We have finished Unit 1 covering the basics of science and the Cellular structure & processes of living things. Our 1st nine weeks are coming to an end, and I am pleased with the progress the students have made so far. We have just begun our Unit 2 lessons on the Organization of Life. The students have started a new project: they are conducting research and constructing a booklet about the human body organ systems. This project is covering 7 chapters from the textbook, so It is a fairly time consuming project...and the majority of class time has been dominated by the research and booklet composition. The booklets are due on Friday, 10/13/17 after we return from the Fall break. We will then spend a bit of time learning the SPECIFIC details of each of the body systems before testing.
Students will then begin learning about the Classification System and the Six Kingdoms of living things: Archaebacteria, Eubacteria, Protists, Fungi, Plants, and Animals. Students will enjoy participating in a group project included in that part of Unit 2.
I am continuing to update the photo gallery page from time to time to show you what types a things are taking place in the classroom. Feel free to check out the photos at the Gallery 2017-18 tab on the classroom website.
Until the next update, STAY WELL!
