Cell Processes & Cells Test

9/12/2017

I trust everyone has stayed safe these last couple of days during the visit of Hurricane/Tropical Storm Irma. It seems that Walker County Schools will resume normal hours starting tomorrow (9/13/17).  Last week, we had finished up all the Cell Project Presentations...and many of the students did tremendous work! I have posted some photos of student presentations on the Gallery 2017-18 Page, if you'd like to check it out.

Before we were interrupted by Irma, the students were learning about the processes that cells go through, including Photosynthesis, Cellular Respiration, and Fermentation.  I plan to finish that chapter on Wednesday & Thursday of this week, and then test the students on Friday (9/15/17).  I encourage students to review their notes and the vocabulary terms found on the classroom website under the "Cell Structure (Organelles)" & "Cell Processes" tabs found on the Vocabulary Page.

We will then begin the Chapter section on the Cell Cycle and DNA Structure.  I will be testing students on that section separately sometime next week. Once we finish cells, we will get into the organization of life, along with the body systems of the human anatomy.

Looking forward to seeing the students back to school tomorrow!

Until the next update, Stay Well!
Mr. Baker
